PUBG ban in India: Why gamers can still download, play the game

Though thousands of PUBG fans in India await the release of PUBG Mobile India, the PUBG Corporation recently announced that Indian players will not be able to play the Korean and Japanese versions of the game in India.

It's worth noting that PUBG Mobile comes in a variety of regional versions, with PUBG Mobile Korea being one of the most common. However, PUBG Corporation has announced that PUBG Kr will only be available in India until June 30.

Since PUBG is illegal in India, the restrictions would prevent Indian players from playing the Korean variant of the game.

Developer constraints suggest that PUBG Mobile India will debut shortly. PUBG Corporation recently announced its intention to establish a subsidiary in India and to launch PUBG Mobile India as soon as possible. PUBG Mobile India is scheduled to launch in June. The game developers recently placed a new work listing on LinkedIn for an Investment and Strategy Analyst who will be in charge of mergers and acquisitions in India for their India subsidiary.

PUBG also recently posted another job opening on LinkedIn, this time for a Product Manager in the country. It's worth noting that the PUBG Corporation actually has six job openings.

Due to data privacy issues, the Indian government outlawed PUBG Mobile India in September 2020. While the PUBG developers have yet to make a formal announcement about the relaunch of PUBG Mobile India, speculations abound that it will happen soon. Since the organisation regularly posts job openings on LinkedIn, the chances of the game returning have improved.
